Capstone update.

The ball is rolling now. The first thing Kev had me do is make silhouette thumbnails for Gilgamesh the main character of my project. We decided on doing a cyberpunk twist on the epic of Gilgamesh. The first task was to make the thumbnails and now I am onto the next part, making the costume. Out of the 12 thumbnails I did, Kev and I chose 3, numbers 2, 6, and 10. What I am going to do now is drop the opacity down to 5% and do an overlay to figure out the costume. The bottom image is Kev taking the liquify tool to the three figures as an example of contorting them to get a different look.

  1. You've obviously got a strong idea of how you want your character to look because the thumbnails all have more or less the same silhouette. Really out of all of them there are only 3 silhouettes at most.

It also looks like your spending too much time on them, thumbnails should be extremely quick, strong shapes, experimenting with a different direction on each one, eventually taking elements you like and continuing to refine them untill you have perhaps 5 you like the most from say 50.

    Have alook at this

  2. That's what I ended up doing, Chris. We took three of the best and combined them and then I solidified the design some more with another five overlays which I just posted. Your link was extremely helpful too, thank you very much. The only reason I didn't show the combination of these is because I think it shows in the overlays above.
